TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL.

GIFT AUCTION. The result of the gift auction held by Mr R. P. Morrissey m aid of the Hawera Technical High School funds resulted in a return of £3l 14s. As there will be no sales expenses, tins amount will be handed over to the school. 1 Before the sale Mr Morrissey asked patrons to hid freely, which they did. At the conclusion, the headmaster (Mr A. Gray) thanked those who had so* generously donated gifts and cash, and specially thanked Mr Morrissey, who. he said, had only added one* more to the many kindnesses lie had shown the school in the past. The cash gifts amounted to about £l3. so that the total results of the effort will approximate £45. This, it is understood, will carry a pound for pound subsidy from the Department.
