A three-seater Bird motor ear, owned by Mr Roy Wilton, of Normanby, caught fire at about seven o’clock yesterday evening. It appears that Mr Wilton was returning home from Hawera, and left the car at the foot of a bill on the Austin road, and returning a few minutes later, after having walked up the hill to his house, found the vehicle in flames. The car was insured in the New Zealand Insurance Co. for £SO.
