The provincial shield tournament opened at Wellington on Saturday. Wellington A beat Auckland by 5 to one and Wellington B diew with Nelson. The tournament wa« continued yesterday in cold drenching rain. Nelson and Wellington B plyaed again to decide their drawn match, out neither scored and the committee drew Nelson against Auckland, the former winning by 2to 1. Gantei'bury met Otago. The latter were 1 to nil at half time, and after ia great fight won bv 2 to 1.
