TWO MINERS KILLED.
EXPLOSION IN COLLIERY
BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT SYDNEY, July 27. An explosion -at the Metropolitan colliery -ait Helensburgh killed two niLuejtvji named George West, twentyfive years of age, and Frederick Green, tweruty-iseven years of age. The deceased, with -seven other miners, were working on a face when a pick penetrated a pocket of -gas. The noise of gas escaping was heard, and the seven others ran to safety.
Green and West, remained and were killed instantly by the ensuing explosion. Both of the bodies were recovered.
