Air E,. H. Andrews and Air J. A. Flesher will be candidates for Reform nomination for the Christchurch North seat.

While walking on Saturday evening, Mrs. Fletcher Dixon, mother of Mrs. FI. F. Hemingway, of Pateu, slipped and fractured her night wrist and injured Iter hip, necessitating her removal to the hospital.

Air L. Tait left Hawera this morning after a short holiday for Masterton, where lie will take up a position on the Farmers’ Co-op. Until he left Hawera for Napier some six months ago Mr Tait was connected with the. local Fire Brigade. At the annual meeting of the Stratford Dairy Company on Monday ' the chairman (Mr Lehmann) referred to the loss the company had sustained through the death of its late chairman (Mr F. Hanford). Our Patea correspondent advises that Mr E. J. Stanford, of that town, left bv the mail train this morning to join the s.s. lonia at Wellington, en route for England. It is some forty-four years age, since Mr Stanford left the Old Country, and this is the first occasion on which lie has set out to visit the relations and friends of his youth. A iarge number of friends were at the station to hid him bon voyage.
