THE WRONG PARR. (BY TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, , July 21. With reference to the allegations made in the House of Representatives as to the holding of lands near the new Ranui railway station, between Henderson and Swanson, some of Sir James Parr’s constituents ; stated that the Minister does not hold nor is he directly or indirectly interested in land in the vicinity of Ranui station. A new station at Oratia was built about a year ago. A family named Parr, hut having no connection with the Minister, had resided in the district for 50 years. The member for Patea had confused the Waikumete family-of Parr with the member ,for Eden. Two years ago the Swanson Ratepayers’ Association was intrumental in the purchase as a scenic reserve of a block of,, 25 acres of native bush’within a mile of Ranui station. This reserve has been named Parr Park. The Association has written to the Prime Minister asking for .a thorough investigation of Mr Corrigan’s charges, as its absolute inaccuracy ancL injustice demand Dominion-wide publicity.
