PURCHASE OF FRUIT.

v FOR FRIENDS AT HOME. (by telegraph. —press association.) WELLINGTON, July 15. With reference to the suggestion, that the Fruit Control Board should make arrangements to enable people in New Zealand to purchase a case of fruit and send it to friends at Home, the board states that it is considering the matter. The difficulty is that the fruit might not arrive in sound condition, and so do harm to its reputation. The board believes the only way is to set up machinery by which fruit could he purchased from sound shipments already arrived in England and delivered to the address desired. It is hoped lie fore next season starts that arrangements on these lines will be completed.
