SHIPBUILDING STATISTICS.
TONNAGE DECLINE IN BRITAIN. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. (Received July 15, 12.35 p.m.) LONDON, July 14. Lloyd’s Register shows that’the total tonnage of shipping under construction, in the world at June 30 was 2,370,000, of which 1,129,000 comprised motor ships. British yards were building 1,094,000 tons, which was 72,000 below the total for the previous quarter, while the rest of the world was 45,000 higher, with 1,276,000 tons.—Reuter.
