Steel Maitland, and Mr. Lahe-Fox, to whom, it is understood, they made it quite clear that it was absolutely impossible for the miners’ representatives to meet the coal-owners on the owners’ present proposals. GERMANY AND BRITISH COAL. BERLIN, July 11. The German coal commissioner clenie s the London story that the importation of British coal is prohibited. There is merely a restriction on the imports ow_ ing to the depression in the German coal industry.
