AGAIN SUSPENDED.
F RAN CO-G ER MAN XEG OT'I ATIONS. FOR, TRADE TREATY. FRENCH 1 PROPOSAL REJECTED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT, Received Julv 8, 11.40 a.m. LONDON, July 7. The Paris correspondent ot the Times states that Franco-German trade, negotiations arc again suspended, owing to Germany’s rejection of the French proposal, which contained important cocessions. The Germans, however, considered they did not assure Germany a. position on the French market equivalent to that offered Fiance on the German market. It is again, alleged that Germany is deliberately putting off a commercial settlement until certain political objects bare been attained, particularly the evacuation of the Ruhr and ol Cologne, but it is pointed out that Berlin is probably more influenced by a fear of a serious fall in the franc, resulting in a flood of imports from France. It is stated that the two Governments are taking steps to maintain contact with a view to later conversations.— Times.
