Reports from Paris suggest that jf Germany accepts the French Note’s essential principles a conference will immediately he called to formulate concrete Rhine and pact proposals. Meanwhile, judging by the report of the Paris correspondent of the Times, Franco-German mutual distrust seems definitely to be fading. The correspondent says that it cannot be doubted that the exchange of the pac-t Notes has improved the relations between tlio French and the German Governments. The former is satisfied with t.h* latter’s reception of the Note, on ■which Dr. Stressinann, the Foreign Minister, alter a first perusal, made certain observations to which the French Government replied immediately in most ooncilntory terms.
