Mr Thos. Newman, accompanied hv Mrs and Miss Newman, spent to-day in Hawera. Mr Newman is the head of the ■well-known firm of Newman Bros., Nelson, who run the splendid car services which servo the Nelson and Marlborough provinces. The party proceed to New Plymouth to see tomorrow’s football match, a son being one of the Nelson College team. It is rumoured in Wairoa that an influntial syndicate is likely to. be formed shortly for the purpose of building a house-boat at Take aikaremoa.ua which-will cater for tourists and sportsmen better than the Tourist Department is doing at present.
