' f LONDON, June 29. “Mankind is speedily approaching a stage when life- will he sustained mentally rather than by physical power,” writes Professor Low, in a new book entitled “The Future.?’ He says : —“Man. will ultimately be.unable to bear the slightest hardships; he will be forced to remain in dwellings, only venturing; into the open after taking special precautions. The normal day will include such horrors as radio alarum clocks, synthetic felt, onepiece suits, hat always worn because the beings will be hairless, and loud speaker news at the breakfast table, with television glimpses of events. He will always travel in closed motor.cars. Shopping will be made effortless by means of moving pavements and stairways, while communication will be by personal radio with metal aerial in the headgear, involving talking through one’s hat.
