LAKESIDE TRAGEDY.
INQUEST CONCLUDED, - (BY Tl.LiiGUAl'll. PRESS ASSOCIATION.) ROTORUA, June 24. The inquest touching the death of Carl Olsen, aged 39, and 'Mary Eileen Moors, aged 14, of'Horotiu, Hamilton, who were found dead with gunshot wounds at Lake Rotorua on May 4, was continued to-day. ' u ", Evidence was given that the girl Moors went to live with an aunt in Hastings in April. Olsen, who lived with tne girl’s parents, left Horotiu by car on May i, and two days later advice was received that the girl bad left her aunt’s home. The deceased, Olsen, had been worrying over a motorcar accident which occurred, at Horotiu on’ April. 1, when twb peppie in the car driven by Olsen were killed. , ' On May 4 a workman assisted de-c-eased to extricate their car on the beach of Lake Rotorua. A few minutes later shots'Were heard, and both deceased were found dead near the car. Olsen was shot in the mouUi and Moors in the breast. A shortened shotgun was found in Olsen’s hands,' Medical opinion >vas' given ..that the girl had not been tampered with. u' The jury returnedW -verdict ‘-that the girl Moors was shot by Olsen,who then shot himself, . .. ~ - . '
