FORRES PRACTICALLY ISOLATED

DAMAGE IN HAWKE3BU R Y DISTRICT.

BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT SYDNEY, June 24. The flood waters of the Lachlan River arrived at Forbes to-day, completely .surrounding the town, but as a result of early -warnings there was no danger to life and minimum damage to property. It is expected the town will be completely isolated by road and lalmo.st all the telegraph and telephone lines are down.

The damage in the Hawkesbury district is estimated at £IOO,OOO. The rain has ceased, but the weather is still unsettled.
