We started cooking the other was;, and our cooking teacher told us we could stew some pears. The moiiung came when we 11 ad to cook them, and we were all happv to have our things ready- when oar ie.ie..er came. The time soon went and the next minute we were in cooking our pears; but Avhen they Avere cooked we had made them too sweet. But they were a'; right. Yesterday we made some oatmeal biscuits and they were lovely to eat. Ruby Bublitz and Jean Laurence and 1 worked to-o-ether, because we were the first three girls round the table. I have just finished inv homework, so J thougiit 1 would write to you while I bad tame. The Tawhiti basket-ball girls are pmyino- a match on Wednesday and 1 am jn it. . 1 will be very anxious to see what our essay is to be on. I hope it is a nice [subject to write upon, like Ave have at school, and a good subject for drawing. II do not- do much now because our coavs are nearly 7 dr a 7, and there’s only one cow to milk ‘and she is a lovely o'd cow. 1 am sitting up with mj Dacl, because he’s waiting from a ring from a long way away, and we are talking about the racehorses and other things, too. I have two sisters and two brothers, I am the eldest. Mv little brother, who is six, is not very strong. He has had rheumatic fever very oadly once when he was just four and again last- winter. Dear Smile Queen,—One of mv mothers had liis birthday on the 9th of this month and lie is six years old. i sween the school every night exept Saturday and Sunday. I wrote to one of my friends and asked her to oin the Smile Castle, but she hasn’t oined it yet. When is your birthday Smile Queen?
