DUNEDIN HOSPITAL.

BOARD CONDUCTS INQUIRY. (BY T TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, June 15. The Hospital Board this evening conducted a lengthy inquiry into the circumstances of the death of James Robertson ,at the Dunedin Hospital on April 26, Deceased was admitted at 5 a.m. the previous • morning with a dental plate lodged in his throat, but was not operated on till the evening of the following day, when he died under the anaesthetic. All the medical officers concerned in the case and the medical superintendent (Dr. Falconer) were closely examined by the chairman and members of the board. Special stress was laid on the system of administration of the hospital and the apportionment of responsibility. The whole of the evidence added very little to that elicited at the inquest. A shorthand record of the evidence is to be circulated among members before the board, meets next Monday to come to a decision.
