A Sydney Press Association message announces that Archbishop . Joiius underwent an operation on Friday night. He is reported to be doing well. Mr R. B. Douglas left Hawera' this morning on a six months’ trip to the Old Country and the Continent. He leaves Wellington by the Coririthfc on Thursday. Mr and Mrs M. Kineton Parkes, together with Mrs Allis and Miss Allis, left Hawera this morning en route for England. It is their intention to settle in England, probably in Bristol. Advice ha.s been received that for the ipilaotioail examinations of the Associated Board of R..A.M. and M.O.M. this year one of the examiners will be Dr. E. T. Sweeting, but, that the second had not yet been nominated. Dr. Sweeting has not previously visited New Zealand. Hri holds a.u Oxford degree and is Maister of Music at Winchester. In regard to a personal note which appeared in our tSiaturdlay’s iissue, there were one or two errors, the information having ibeeo received over the telephone. The lady whose death we regret to record was Mrs. J. J. Campbell, of Cornwall, Otahuhn, wh' was the widow of the late Mr. J. J.
(lamiebell, a prominent early . settler of South Taranaki and father of Mr. A. L. Campbell, of Fiaser Road, and Mr. J. L. Campbefl, of Eltham.
