FRANKLIN BY-ELECTION.
EXTRA EDITION.
NO LIBERAL CANDIDATE. WAITING TILL GENERAL ELECTION. (BY TELEGRAPH PR.F.BB ASSOCIATION • WELLINGTON, May 30. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr. T. M. Wilforcl) this morning received a resolution which was passed by the Auckland Provincial Council of the Liberal-Labour Federatipn, deciding that Mr. J. Rea should be selected as the Liberai-Labour candidate at the next geiier.al election, and that after 'consultation with the leading LiberalLabour supporters in the Franklin electorate the council recommended the executive in Wellington that the Liberal-Labpur Party take no part in the Franklin by-election, but wait until the general election, which must* take place in the next few months. Mr. Wilford informed a Post reporter, in reply to. a question, that the decision of the executive in Wellington in regard to the resolution would be communicated to the oress on Monday.
