HAWERA MUNICIPAL BAND.

GRAND BALL. TO-NIGHT AT WINTER SHO W BUILDINGS. It can safely be saief t-liat seldom has the Winter Show hall and the long ap'P'roach to the stains, looked prettier, or more artistically decorated than they have been, for the grand ball arranged for to-night by the Hawe-ra Municipal Band Committee. Just inside the main entrance the big floor has been laid out like a- series of five lawns, with a wide path running through them, and ferns and shrubs interspersed all over the hall. A series of arches decorated with greenery' and set with coloured lights will make a pretty approach for visitors to the ball room. The decorations are set off by many multi-coloured flags.

In the ballroom the decorations arc also very pretty. Flags and greenery make an effective contrast, and above them are suspended row® of graceful pot plants. The whole is set off with brilliant lighting, and in each corner is a series of flashlights to be used when the dancers are! in full swing. Added to these"attractions! are a perfect floor, excellent music and a supper arranged by a ladies’ committee. Everything possible has been done for the comfort and convenience of the large number of people who have arranged to be there to-night. The function promises to be one of the best ever held in.
