The first of a series of fortnightly social evenings arranged by the entertainment committee of the local R.S.A. was held in the Soldiers’ Club last evening. A most enjoyable time tvas spent by the 60 ladies and gentlemen who attended. Cards, billiards, and ping-pong were indulged in, and a musical and elocutionary programme was contributed by the following: Mesdames Goodson and Bisham, Miss Alison Goodson, Miss D. Maehin and Miss D. Joll (accompanist), and Messrs TTessell, Simpson. Briggs, M. R. Jones W. Thomas, McLelland and IT. L. Spratt. An excellent supper was also provided.
