SOME SPEED
PROJECTED ATLANTIC TRIP. CROSSING IN TWO DAYS. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT NEW YORK, May 21. Gar Wood, the speed boat champion, says he is laying p’ans to attempt to cross the Atlantic in 48 hours from Newfoundland to Cowes in 1927. To do this the boat will have to maintain a speed of sixty miles per hour, refuelling from steamships stationed at sea. Wood is also planning a speed boat capable of doing one hundred mi’es an hour.
