ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
HEART MASSAGE

At the inquest concerning the death of Stanley Dun stall, aged 89, evidence was* given that following ah operation at the Waikato hospital the heart '■eased to beat for five mniutes. An incision was made and the heart massaged. It resumed beating, and the patient was apparently making a good recovery. A s the effect of the anaesthetic wore off, however, brain trouble developed and the patient died. A verdict was returned that death was due to heart'failure, and that all care and skill had been taken.
