It was urged, in view of New Zealand’s experience, that they should prepare for an emergency; Dr. Hughes statedL.that the average number of cases in the children’s hospital previously did not exceed three, but this rear there had been 22, with five deaths. There were "at least two other deaths outside, and one doctor was caring for 11 cases.
