CANNIBALISM REPORTED

(Received May 8, 8.50 a.m.) PEKING, May 8. A serious famine is reported in the Kweichow province. People are said to be eating leaves and parents selling children for a handful of rice. In several villages, according to Catholic priests, it is believed there have been cases of eann i balisin. —Renter.
