NORMANBY.

(From Our Ow r n Correspondent.) The old police station, which haw done duty since 1880, has outlived its effective usefulness,, and though some amounts have been spent on it during the last few years, it is very much lacking in for a married man. This state of affairs prompted the request for an inspection by the Minister for Justice .(Hon. Sir James Parr) on his way through to Eltham on Tuesday. The Minister, though his time was short, thoroughly inspected the buildings. # It is hoped that his .decision will be to do something to materially improve the station buildings and bring them, to. some extent, up-to-date. The station is older than at Haw’era when' the- new' buildings were erected here.
