Paterson ; auditor, Mr J. D. Thompson; management committee, Messrs P. Myles, J. Gunn, G. Willis, YY. Morse, J. McCarthy, P. McComisky and J. A. McKenna. MUSICAL RECITAL.

The musical recital organised by Miss Bremer, cf Whenuakura, and held in the Town HaT on Friday, was a great success, and some very line items werd tendered. Two young singers (Miss i . liouike and Miss Brennan) made their initial bow to a Patea audien.ee, and, .t 1 mistake not, more will he heard of these two young ladies. Miss Roache, of Wellington, contributed the piano mbs, •‘jtngiisii Waltz,” "‘Blue Danube Paraphrase,” "Polonaise III,” and •‘Sans Bois” in a very finished style, and received very warm applause. Master Joe Crawford sang “The Admiral s Broom” in first-rate style, and had to jespond to an encore. Miss O’Sullivan sang “Tip Toe” in a very pleasing manner, and received hearty applause, the song “The Magic Month of May, was nicely sung by Miss K. Kennedy. Miss B. Bremer played “Water Wag,ai’ ” “Trc-isieme Impromptu’’ (Chopin) uid (a) “To a Waterlilv,” (b) "From Uncle Remus,” in a faultless manner, and encores -were demanded. Mr C. Corliss contributed the gems of the evening, singing “Angus McDonald, •‘Annie Juaurie,” and “The Old and young Marie,” each item being vocileruisly encored, and before the- audience ,vns* satisfied three recalls were neces•nry. Miss M. Brennan’s singing of •‘My Rosary lor You” was a real treat ■ml this young lady is the possessor of musical gifts well worth cutlivation. these remarks also .. apply with equal orce to Miss Phy’lis Bourke, \vhq_ sang •‘Big Lady Moon” in a very dainty itvle. Mr Whittington was quite at home with his musical monologues, and tad to grant recalls. Miss C. McKenna sang “When Song is Sweet,” and re■eived a well-deserved encore, and 7'itzgibbons song ‘‘.Smile Through Your Tears,” was a very bleasing number, and an encore was demanded. Rev. Father Phelan thanked the performeVs for their kind assistance, and those present for their support.
