FIRST “TOTE” AIEETING. TO-DAY’S SPORT. (By Telegraph.—Special to Star). NEW PLYMOUTH;, April 18. The Taranaki Trotting Club’s first totalisator meeting was held to-day on tlie Jockey Club’s course at New Plymouth. The weather, though dull, was fine. The course and its appointments were in good condition and, with the excellent acceptances, there was every prospect of a good day’s racing. There w-as a good attendance of the public. Results: —< f Maiden Handicap.-—-1 Oleda 1,2 Wild Child 2, 4 Albert Zolook 3. Also started: 5 Gaza, 3 Typist, 6 Dodger. Time, 3.47. AVaitara Handicap.—l Tui Bells 1, 2 Elsa Nore 2, 6 Lobster 3. Also started:'7 Mortar. 4. Wildwood King, 5 Gipsy Alae, 3 Alarble Hall. —Time, 3,55 4-5.
