When the Mo nab case was resumed this morning Detective-Sergeant Connolly described the search at AJouat’s house on February 28. The blankets in, the front room contained two large stain,s, and appeared to have been recently washed. hi tlie dining room he found a greasy substance at the hack of the grate and under the copper in the washhouse he found a, quantity of bones. Other bones were found under debris, in the yard. Witness took possession of two saws, a. tomahawk, knives and bayonet, which were produced ; also a, chi-el. COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. CHRISTCHURCH, April IS. On the murder charge Alouat, who reserved his defence, was committed for trial at the May sittings of the Supreme Court.
