STOCK MARKETS.
YEBY QUIET
The Easter holiday have made matters very quiet in the stock world, and there is very little to report for tlie week. The level of prices remains, just about the same as last week. The season is approaching probably its slackest period, hut conditions generally are fairlv good. The cold spell has checked the growth of pastures, but the previous good growth will be valuable to farmers? All over the district, however, dairy farmers have good root crops, lucerne, hay and ensilage, these will need to be drawn upon pretty liberally lor the next few months. Very shortly the usual crop of c earinn- sales will begin, the first being fixed for May T, and from that date, there .will be' a succession of sn’ies. These will make a busy time for stock auctioneering firms, and will even up the demand for stock.
