Tiie Pacta Coursing Club advised id. at they woo'd be running the Waterloo Cup meeting on .July 30, 31 and Aug-st 1, and asked that Pa tea teams be gn en a bye or tiiat no games be fixed for that* week. —The matter was J !;ft to the committee who weie drawing up fire fixtures. Pa-tea Juniors asked that home and home games lie fixed with Opunake in pla.e of pairing matches at Hawera. — T’nis was also left to the Fixtures Committee. A communication was received from Kimberley asking for a donation to the H. C. Bennett Memorial Fund. (Mr Bennett, it wil' be remembered, was manager of the Springboks).—-It was decided that tiie matter be left to the New Zealand Union. General approval was expressed of the proposal. A suggestion was received, from the Tukapa Sports Grounds Committee tlial the union lease two of their grounds. — It was decided that no * decision be made until the fixtures were al'otted. Advice was received from the New Zealand Union that the date of the i annual meeting-had been altered from April 25 to Thursday. April 30. Marlborough Union asked for a visi! from Taranaki as a return for the 1923 visit.—The matter was held over foi the present. The Salvation Army in New Plymouth wrote thanking the union foi a comoliinentary ticket, and stating that their officers did not attend footboil matches. In regard to gates, the chairman said the nil 'on ■ should get a better “cut.” A small increase would be a small tiling ndividia'.lv, but would mean a big tHug in the aggregate.—lt was de eidefi that t'e "iiion take -l;> per cent.. I and the competin'*' clubs 53 per cent out of the nett gates. GROUPING OF CLUBS. After a good deal of discussion, it was resolved that the clubs be divider, into, two groups as lolipw : Group I. —Old Boys, Star, Kaponga Stratford. Eltham. Athletic, and 'Opunake. Group ll.—Tiikapa, Clifton, Ingewood,' Hawera, Okaiawa, and Patea. According to figures submitted it was estimated that clubs would travel the following distances: Tukapa 182. Clif ton 182, Inglewood 156, Hawera 1151 Okaiawa 163, Patea 233, Old Boy* 266 Star 206, Kaponga 149. Stratford 132 R't-liam 180, Athletic 169. and Opunake 182. CLUB DISTRICTS. i A question of boundaries was raised as between New Plymouth, Inglewood and Clifton, and a sub-committee wa> set up consisting of Messrs. McLeod Garcia, Masters, and Spurdle to gc into the matter. , It was stated that boundaries were required for Stratford Waimate, Athletic, Okaiawa. Star and E'.tliain. I EXECUTIVE. It was resolved that Messrs. Me T eod (North). Goodwin (South) and Young (Central) be appointed to the executive. CO MPT, T Al E NT Al IY TICK El'S. This question was the cause of considerable discussion, and after the matter hid been thrashed* out it wa.s resolved that tickets be issued u referees, clergy, doctors, president and > ecretary of each club, and the e>recu--live of Primary Schools’ Association. These, it was stated, were die only ones to be issued by the union. To these should be added life members. . RET NSTA.TKM.ENTS. Johnson (St-'tf'm'), King (Opunake) Sangster (Toko). Dofise tt (Stratford). TRANSFERS. Transfers were granted to T. Kin; (Opunake) to Toko, J. Jams (Star; tv Stratford! PRIMARY SCHOOLS ASSOCIATION. A copy of the report anti balancesheet was received and cordial‘approval wa.s expre s’ed of the work done by the Primary SchooLs’ Association in loitering Hugby in Taranaki. The chairman cajd the association was doing excel lent work, and it was woudemil what it had''achieved for .sport in the primary schools. Taranaki owed it a debt of gratitude. The union could not do better than to encourage the association. Mr. Furrie said that the association had wiped out ios funds in organism;, new districts. On the motion of Mr.. Garcia it war dec-hied that the meeting express keei approval ,an<l appreciation of the scheme organi' ed by the association, which was all in the interests ol Rugby. It was agreed, after some discussion, till at Air. Goodwin confer with the committee and bring down a report to a future meeting. WAIMATE CLUB. A request from the Waimate Club to be allo’We 1 to play juni.n this sea--0011 and to have six playeis leinstated was preferred by a. deputation consisting of Messrs. \Y. Bimrke ind W. VJ. Radley Air. BatMey said the club found it impossible to run a senior v.eam, ami consequently asked the union f.i agree that it play junior footbuM this season, and if possible, return to the ranks of seniors next year. Air. Bourke said that club foAtha.ll was very hard, and it was not- fair or advantageous for boys Of 16 or 17 to play senior, in which they would not do themselves justice. In Alanaia there were several promising youths, and if the request were net gra -o! they would have to play senior. They could licit drag out the old players ‘'/rain •••« lii-t vei". It was not in the. beet interests of footbail to put these youths into senior football. As a fact
they could not do it as there was only one back who had played senior last year. Two years ago the d*ib had considered the question of amalgamation with Okaiawa. and last year with Kaponga, but neither "materialised. The players for whom the club asked reinstatement were Laveiv, Murray, L. Hughe.s, Sutton and G rini 11 . The chairman, said that last year it was agreed that any club could lie granted the right to draw 011 senior players in a sub-district, and two years ago this right was given to Hawera, Kaponga and Stratford. Mr. Bourke said there was no outstanding players. Air. Neilson said it would be a pity to lo.se men like L. -Hughes, from rep. football. ,
