DAIRY PRODUCE. HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. The .Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated April 4, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: — Butter. Market quiet, with tendency downward. Official quotations are:— New Zealand. —Finest* salted, 164 s to 166 s oer cwt (Is 5Jd to Is 03d per lb); unsalted, 174 sto 180 s per cwt (Is 6-Jd to Is 7i-d per lb); other qualities, 148 - to 160 s per cwt (Is 4d to Is old per lb). Australian.—Salted, 160 s to 162 s per cwt; other qualities, 152 s to 156 s per cwt; unsalted, 166 s to 170 s per cwt. Argentine.—lsßs to 162 s per cwt; other qualities, 150 s to 156 s per cwt. Danish.—Slow. 212 s to 214 s per cwt (2s to 2s OJd per lb). Cheese. Prices of New Zealand declined to 98s this week, but have recovered — 102 s now being asked. Official quotations are: — English. Finest farmers’, scarce, 135 sto 140 s per cwt (Is 2Ad to Is 3d per lb!. Canadian.—Firm. Coloured, 106 s to 112 s per cwt; white, 108 s to 112 s per cwt. , ’ New Zealand. —Coloured and white, 99s up to 101 - per cwt (10id to lOiid per lb). Australian. —Coloured, 98s per cwt-. Estimated stocks of cheese on April 1 in London, Liverpool and Bristol. — Canadian and American, 13,800 boxes, N7e\v Zealand and Australian £>2,100 crates, against 13,300 and- 103,500 for same time last year. Shipments of New Zealand produce arrived this week per Rotorua.'Port Melbourne, Port Albany and Rimutaka. Casein. Present quotations are: —French rennet, £4O 14s per ton ; New Zealand iciinet, £sl per ton.
