NEW REGULATIONS
New regulations, have been issued to govern the medical examinations, ol members of the Sew Zealand Defence Forces. In future there will be no medical examination of those registered foi service in the O.ulets.
“Any person liable to undergo training who, Haims exemption on the ground of medical in fitness will b< required to- produce at his. own ex peruse a, certificate signed by a legistered medical practitioner (an office! of the New Zealand Medical Corp* where possible). This certificate musl specify the nature and probable duration of the disability from which the cadet- or territorial is suffering, and contain an expression of the opinion or . the medical practitioner as to the fitness, or otherwise of the trainee to undergo military training in the Oadets or Territorial Force, as the case may he On the receipt of such certificate, the Area- Officer or Adjutant will, if the case is a. Hear one, Line the necessary certificate of exemption, but where there is ‘a doubt whether the case is one for exeruption he anil refer the application through, the usual channel to the •'•■••e (or —•*' devices for decision. The Director of Medical Services will, if lie considers, it .necessary, instruct that the applicant be examined by a Board of Officers ol the New Zealand Medical. Corps. “In all oases where partial or total exemption, is granted under this regulation, the cost of the certificate furnished by the applicant, but- not ex-1 needling ten shilliuigs and sixpence, will 1 be refunded by the department.” j
