GOLF CLUB MEETING

Ait the annual meeting oi the Manaia Golf Club, Mr. 15. J-. Judd presiding, the balance-sheet showed a credit of £2O 6s 6d, with the sum of £2 lf»s outstanding. lhe president reported that all the . gi eens were in good order for the commencement of the year,- and that Easter Saturday would .see play •started.* The election of officers resulted as follows: President, E. J. Judd; vicepresidents, A. H. Christie and G. FT M.enli; hon. secretary and treasurer, A. M. Hannah; men’s committee: T. W. Armitage, I. Young and P. R. Wright: ladies’ committee: Mesdames A. H. Christie and G. H. Menli and Misses Mend and Clague; grounds: E. *J. Judd, A. H- Christie and A. G. Bennett. _ , The subscription was fixed the same r,'S, last year. The following new members were elected: Alosdames E. BourUe, T>avie». Oxley, Crawford-Watson, Miss Bourke. Messrs. E. Rourlce, F. D. Oxley, G. R. Watts, H. Burgess and Dr. Davies. Mrs. Christie proposed that the Hub build a pavilion about the same size as the bathing sheds at Kaupokonui. The annuaKmeeting of Manaia Soccer Club \was held in Fire Brigade Station on Saturday evening. Mr W. Vincent occupied the chair. The balance-sheet and report was held over till next meeting for audit purposes. A circular letter soliciting entries for their seven-a-side tournament was received and read from Manaia Hibernian Sports Club. It 1 was- left in the hands of Messrs G. Edwards and W. The subscription was fixed at 7s 6d. The matter of securing honorary members was left to discretion of members. A motion was passed confirming action re T.F.A. delegates’ instructions as to Chinese Cup, etc., passed at meeting of. March 26 last. The secretary was instructed to see old players and report as to number ol

jerseys available for coming season. It was decided to purchase new jerseys as required by players, same to become their personal property on paying cost. The pair of tailor-made trousers donated by Air Geo. Cook (Manaia) last year for most improved player was awarded to Mr T. Butler, left halfback of Manaia team.

Mr G. Jorgenson was elected an hon. member. j A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the press, and the meeting closed with a similar compliment to the chairman.
