STORM IN THE SOUTH
(by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, April 6. A south-westerly storm is raging in North Canterbury atul the weather is bitterly cold. Shipping work is greatly delayed. SNOW NEAR PALMERSTON NORTH PALMERSTON N., April 6. A cold snap, following delightful week-end weather, was experienced this morning. Snow was falling on the higher levels at the hack of Ashhurst. The Dominion Meteorologist reports that for 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day the indications are for southerly winds. The weather will probably prove cold and showerv. Barometer .rising. Seas heavy; tides good.
