At a conference of trade union delegates at Johannesburg, for the purpose of forming a united association ol empl-.vtes. on the principle of “one i»,g union.” the Minister for Labour attended and expressed his approval of the movement. 'The meetings were held behind closed doors, but it has now been announced that- the conference was practically a fiasco, owing to the fact that it was .captured liv Communists Two Communist leaders, Andrews and Glass, were elected secretary and treasurer respectively.
