- « (From Our Own Correspondent.) S.M. COURT. The monthly sitting of the Magistrate’s Court was held on Monday, March 16 at Manaia, before Mr A. H. Mowlem, S.M. Civil Cases. —The following cases were dealt with: H. J. Eaves v. E. R. Hastie, claim £126, by default, and £2 15s costs; J. O’Leary v. IV. Paraeroa, claim £6 8s 6d, by default, and, £2 2s 6d costs; Kaupokonui Dairy Co. v. Mrs G. Parsons, claim £3 13s, by default, and. 30s 6d costs; A. G. Bailey v. T. Damon, claim £2 19s lid, by default, and 31s 6d costs; A. G. Bailey v. Moses, claim £2 14s lid, by default, and 3s 6d costs; same v. Waka. claim £1 13s lOd, by default, and 31s 6d costs.
Judgment Summons. —H. J. Eaves v. Charles Cole, claim £4 7s lid. Defendant offered to pav 10s per month ; order made accordingly. Manaia Town Board v. Harry Hawe, claim £3 4s Bd. Judgment for amount, in default four days’ imprisonment. Failing to Register.—Charles and Walter Anglesey and Duncan Davison were convicted, and fined costs amounting to 10s 6d in .the case of the two first-named and 14s in the latter defendant’s case.
