ALLEGED THEFT.

SALE OF FERRY TICK El'S. (BY TBLEGKAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.; WELLINGTON, March 11. At the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon the hearing in the case in which George Nelson Shore, an employee of the Eastbourne ferry service, was charge with the theft of £3OO, was concluded. Evidence was given that the accused Shore had received a portion of the money from the sale of: bogus tickets. Detectives said that when they approached Shore at Palmerston North and said they had a search warrant to see if any tickets were in his. house Shore pulled from his pocket some of the tickets, but said they were of no use. ‘ Witty, formerly manager of the Eastbourne Ferry Company and now of » Christchurch, gave evidence that. Shore was in charge of the ticket department of the company. Several other witnesses were called, after which accused was committed for trial. He was released on bail, a condition being that he reported weekly to the police.
