TEST FLIGHT.

LONDON TO TOKIO

BT CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT

SAN FRANCISCO, March 7

Mr H. Hammer, of Seattle, who was Captain Roald Amundsen’s chief aide in the attempts in 1923 to fly to the North Foie, announces that plans are being made for a test for a flight from London to Tokio via Alaska this year "with the object of establishing a commercial air route. It is said that five thousand miles can be flown in fifty hours with two stops for refueling. Hammer has secured the assistance of the Japanese Government. It is said that the atmospheric conditions are ideal for flying along the proposed route between May and September, and if such a route should be thoroughly established, it would be of value strategically as well as commercially.
