This partial closing may extend for t\} r o or three years. The organ with Grinling Gibbons' carving and the choir will be dismantled in order to allow the piers behind to. be examined. The altm will be erected at the head of the nave, enabling a thousand to attend service. The reason for the closing of the dome portion is not the danger, but the' desirability of expediting the work ns much as possible.
