ELECTORAL ROLL.
APPLICATIONS STILL BEING RECEIVED. Friday, March 6, was the final day for registration of elec tors, in terms of the Ac.t, but the registrar advises that names are still being taken, for the neav roll to he compiled. Up to the 6th inst. 7057 enrolments had been made and ' approved, and a considerable number have been since taken. On the old electoral roll there were nearly nine thousand. names, and it is certain that a large number more must have become entitled to vote. It. will therefore, be seen that a large number of electors are .still to be enrolled. Advice /bias been received. that some time will elapse before the existing roll is to he abolished, and that the date when fixed will he notified in the Gazette, and also the. date for closing of applications for enrolment in the general list. - Everyone qualified is urged to see that hi.si or her name is enrolled, and a call on, the registrar will elicit the required information. Readers must remember that condi.tionsi have altered since 1 election, and that the act of voting at that election, does not au.tomatie.iHly register them for the near roll. A. fresh application is therefore necessary, and should he made without delay.
