POULTRY CONFERENCE.

At the annual conference in Chrietchurch last week much business of value to poultry keepers was transacted. Several remits from Hawera were carried. The Press reports as below : • , Carriage of Eggs by Pail. Mr Green (Hawera) moved that consideration he given, to the need, for the reduction of railway freight on eggs. Mr Bruce seconded, and said that’ the matter had been brought under the notice of the Railway Commission, and was receiving consideration. The remit was 'agreed to. Other remits on behalf of Hawera, urging that eggs should he conveyed by mail’ trains, and urging the prohibition of exposing eggs for sale in a dirty condition, were agreed to.
