THE WOOL MARKET. 'DUNEDIN SALE. PRICES ERR ATIC. lUV TKU.UIUrH HKKHS ASSOIUATIOM. DUNEDIN, March 9. The third Dunedin wool sale was held to-day with an unusually large offering. The sale was held later in the season than usual, this being really the customary February sale. There weie heavy withdrawals. Prices were very erratic. Bidding was confined to a very few buyers, and local buyers seemed to be taking very little. Halfbred was down from 4d to (id crossbred from 2d to 3d, and pieces at least 2d, with a big drop m merino wool. Buyers in many cases were apparently indifferent whether they secured lots. There was no improvement as the sale progressed, there seeming to be little animation about the market. Bradford was the dominating factor, but a fair amount was being taken for the Continent. America was taking nothing. A later estimate of the position was that fine wools are down 3d to sd, crossbred from 2d to 4d, and bellies and pieces on an average 4cl. Local fellmongers were buying fairly extensively in pieces. MEAT BOARD’S PRICES.
