POULTRY CONFERENCE.
LEVY ON EGGS. (KY TEfiEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, March 6. At the New Zealand poultry confer-c-nce to-day the levy on eggs was .fixed at (id per 100 dozen*, as formerly. The chairman .read the following telegram from the Dominion president' of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union: “The Minister is determined not to interfere with his. existing policy in regard to wheat, and recommends yon to buy locally now.” A motion in favour, of the Government establishing an experimental research farm was carried. The following officials were elected : President, Mr. T. Brnce (Manawatu); vice-presidents, Messrs W. E-. Green (Hawera) and EL W. Griffiths (Auckland) ; executive, Messrs J. Hutton (.Otago), A. G. Mumby (Wellington), A. S. Holmes (Auckland), J. Liggins (Christchurch), G. H. Bradford (Christchurch) ; Messrs. A. M. Love (Otago) and J. Sclater (Wellington) were elected as substitutes; secretary and Treasurer. Mr. J. T. Watkins; delegates to the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, Messrs T. Bruce and A G. M urn by.
