ELECTORAL.
, COMPULSORY REGISTRATION. LAST DAY TO-MORROW. The officer in charge at Hawera of the enrolment of electors for the Patea district states that applications for enrolment have been coming in fairly well, but that there must be a very large number still to be enrolled. It was a clause of the Act that all voters should he on the roll in four months from coming into operation of the Act, and that date was November 6. All who have not filled up their card should apply at once to the registrar at the courthouse. It will he of interest to note that persons who have resided in New Zealand for 12 months, who are of the age to enrol, but who have not at the present been resident in any electoral district for three months, cannot register until they have fulfilled the three months’ residential qualification. These persons, therefore, are not required to enrol by March 6. Persons' who contemplate moving from one address to another within the next week or so should see that their names are placed on the roll before taking iip their new abode. Failure to register bv March 6 involves a fine.
