Detectives when searching in the underworld for a much-wanted thief, entered a house in which there- was a corpse on a bier, .surrounded by four candles. Detectives, noticing the eyelids twitching uncovered the body and discovered, the fugitive, who was simulating death in order to escape the police. The supposed corpse was arrested. —Aus.-N.Z.
