The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. report as follows:--The fourth Wellington wool saie o. die season commenced oil Saturday evening, and concluded this afternoon. !he combined brokers offered catalogues totalling 2o,0lA) bales, and succeeded in selling about, .5 per cent, oi the offering. Buyers were in full attendance, and Competition was more general than at any previous sale tnis season. Bidding was spirited, and all sections competed strongly at the lowe. evel of values recently established. The selection of wools was hardly up to the average, although some clips were :*< very light condition. A feature of the. *a,e was the keen denianu on behalf oi the Continent for suitable lines o.' tieece pieces and bellies. Lambs met with good competition from local mills but were not keenly sought alter by the Continental section, and consequently values ruled on somewhat lowei basis.' As compared with the January sale, fleevd wools are from 2d to sc( per lb lower, except for merino., which shows a further decline, owing mainl> to the inferior quality offered. Odd meats met with keen demand at price. l show ing a decrease in value from 2d to od.
