INMATES HAVE CLOSE CALL. tBY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATIONAUCKLAND, Feb. 23. AVhen a fire destroyed the greater portion of the Alount Royal Boardinghouse on Alonukau road early on Sunday morning the 18 male boarders escaped with little time to spare. Most of them lost their clothing or personal effects. The building was owned by Miss C. Aitkenhead, and was insured for £2070 in the New Zealand office. The contents were owned by the tenant, Mrs S. AA r illiams, and were insured for £450 in the insurance office of Australia.
