A fanner residing nr, Hook Swamp, near Makikihi, named Thomas Thornly, j who was missed from his home on Tuesday night, was found at 10.30 a.m. yesterday hanging in a plantation nearby. At the inquest evidence was given by relatives ,that deceased had been depressed and strange in manner for the last few days. A verdict of! suicide while in a. depressed state of mind was returned (states a. Press Association message from Timaru). The H'awera. Magistrate’s Court today was engaged for some time in hearing, an application by Emily "Whaley against William David Wasley, for maintenance, separation and guardianship order*. After evidence had been taken the orders; asked for were granted and the defendant ordered to pay 12s 6d per week towards the support of his. wife and 12s fid per week towards the support of his two children. TIME LOST AT FACTORIES.
