OVER THE “GAP.”
TWO SYDNEY SUICIDES. gY CABlifi—PatiSS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT # SYDNEY, Feb. 18. Another tragedy occurred at “The Gap” early this ’morning. A commercial traveller named H. Smith, about 27 years of age, and a young woman aged 24, Mrs Ella French, of Maokay, Queensland, where the police believe her husband and children are residing, hurled themselves over the cliffs and fell on the rocks about 100 feet- below. Both bodies were hadlv mutilated.
The couple were last seen alive at midnight walking in the vicinity of “The Gap,” but the tragedy was not discovered until this morning, when a fisherman, looking over the cliffs, saw the bodies.
Several letters were found on both victims, and are being investigated by the nolice, but the motive so far has not been explained.
